Neovaginal microbiome establishment

Can peritoneal-derived neovaginal tissue establish and hold a Lactobacillus-majority microbiome under sustained estrogenization and probiotic loading?

Peritoneal tissue does not begin with a vaginal microbial community. This study documents, in real time, whether one can be established and sustained — tracking community composition through serial 16S rRNA sampling against a fixed schedule of estrogen exposure and probiotic loading, with all collection metadata and deviations recorded.

Cyclical hormone protocol

Originally a combined study: pharmacokinetic documentation of a 28-day cyclical estradiol and progesterone protocol, alongside a neovaginal microbiome endpoint.

An antibiotic course — for a Group A Strep infection — confounded the microbiome arm. Rather than continue a compromised design, I closed the combined study. The pharmacokinetic data is preserved as a complete descriptive dataset, and the microbiome question was relaunched as the focused study above.
