Everything goes on OSF first
If it isn’t time-stamped before I see the result, I don’t fully trust myself with it. Pre-registration is mostly a tool against my own hindsight.
Before any data is collected, the protocol and analysis plan are registered on the Open Science Framework. The registration is the contract: this is the question, this is how I will measure it, this is how I will decide what the answer is.
Raw data and analysis code go into OSF components as the study runs, so the path from measurement to conclusion is inspectable rather than asserted. Posts here link back to those records; my ORCID iD ties the whole body of work to a stable identity.
An independent researcher needs this more than an institutional one, not less. There is no ethics board, no co-authors, and no department reading over my shoulder. The public, time-stamped record is the only thing standing between a careful study and a story I told myself after the fact.
It is unglamorous infrastructure, and it is most of the work. But it is the difference between a case study someone can build on and an anecdote they have to take on faith.
